Autumn has kicked in, yay! As we take our sweaters out of the cupboards, this weather also asks for hearty warm drinks. Golden milk is an ayurvedic drink that has been made and served for shifa. It boosts our immune system and is a perfect company to indulge in this misty season. I say make it, pour it in your reusable cup, go for a walk sipping and witnessing the changing colours in nature. Here’s the recipe for golden milk from my parents-in-law:
Ingredients:
2 cups of milk (of your choice)
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
2-3 table spoons of crushed nuts – pistachio is a winner and best combination is walnuts, pistachio and almonds
Honey – to taste
Recipe:
Add milk in a pot. When it’s a little warm, add turmeric powder and crushed nuts. Keep stirring until boiled. Pour it in cups and add honey to taste.
Lots of shifa!
